How it works?
System is based on collection and pairing of anonymised unique Bluetooth MAC addresses using roadside detectors.
SW filters for special cases (vehicle stops for re-fuelling, lunch break, etc.) are used.
Basic and advanced software package for travel time and even traffic level or origin destination survey is available with Invipo platform.
CASE STUDY UPGRADE OF THE D1 MOTORWAY, CZECH REPUBLIC
The aim of the project is to inform the general public about the possible delays caused by the upgrade of Czech Republic’s largest arterial road – the D1 motorway.
The motorway reached the end of its life-cycle. The Road and Motorway Directorate decided to completely rebuild its oldest 200 km section. The upgrade is a work in progress, done in sections since 2013.
BTTT Module helps to monitor the travel time within and around the sections under repair. The measured data is displayed online on the web portal www.uzavery-d1.cz, available to the general public. There, it is possible to obtain current and historical data about delays on individual sections being modernized. Data is collected from roughly 35 thousand vehicles passing the sections every day (it was measured that about 40% – 50% of the vehicles have Bluetooth devices on board).
The advantage of this system is immediate reaction to impending delays and traffic congestions. Warnings are automatically published via the web portal and subsequently through other channels (radio, RDS, GPS, etc.).
